LEAD ROOM PARENT JOB DESCRIPTION
*E-mail parents about upcoming class events
*Plan the three holiday parties (Oct. Dec. and Feb.)
*Collect for class gifts for the teacher
*Recruit parent to organize class auction item
*Work with teacher to help with Friday Folders
*Recruit parents for Field Trips, Field Day, lunch room help, Science Night and other events
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
*Coordinate with the teacher to determine the academic needs of the class in the areas of:
--math and reading tutoring
--science lab and hands on science unit help
--classroom help during Reading Assessments
--Computer on Wheels session (1st-4th grades)
*Recruit parent help for these academic needs
Parents sign up to be a Room Parent or Volunteer Coordinator at the beginning of the year. Anyone interested in helping in the classroom can contact their Room Parent and get plugged in.
