PTO Newsletter 5/25
The school year has come to a close and summer is finally here. We wanted to say thank you to our teachers, staff and our wonderful Principal and Vice Principal for an unforgettable year! The people who work every day at our school made it a place of learning, kindness, respect, growth, and fun. Our children are fortunate and we are grateful!
We also want to thank all of the parents and caregivers who showed up all year long to make events and fundraisers happen, who came to support their children in their endeavors, and who cheered from the sidelines as milestones were achieved and the days passed by. Parents and caregivers are a critical component of the school, and we hope you know you are appreciated for all the things you have done throughout the school year.
Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to Katie Agnew, our talented, thoughtful, tireless outgoing PTO President. Our school has thrived this year under her leadership and she deserves a huge “thank you” for a job well done. Thank you, Katie! You’re the best!

The Lost & Found bin is overflowing! All items are in the cafeteria by the stage. Any items left after school dismisses for the summer will be donated to Unicycle, Percy’s Vintage Closet and Goodwill, as appropriate. There are nice items in there so please come find yours!
IT’S BACK! For the second year in a row, Dr. Young and Miss Stuart are challenging ALL Percy Priest Tigers to read 100 books over the ten weeks of summer break!
Challenge sheets went home last Friday. For each book read (chapter books: 50 pgs=1 book), color a paw print on the front and write the title on the back. Recommended summer reading lists went home last Friday and can be found here too.
Students can check out up to 100 books/playaways from the Nashville Public Library. Audiobooks (See Amazon for page counts) and family read alouds are highly encouraged! Be sure to check out the Nashville Public Library’s Libby app for audiobooks. Email Miss Stuart for library card info.
Each student who completes the challenge will receive recognition and a prize in August. Extra 100 Book Challenge sheets will be on the PPE front porch during the summer. See below for a suggested reading timeline:

A Message from the Green Team
The Green Tigers parent team will be collecting used school supplies in the bins on the front porch. Instead of throwing out your old school supplies, save them at home for next year, or toss them in the bin to be re-used. You can save crayons, makers that still work, pencils, scissors, even notebooks that still have paper in them. Please check the bins for more ideas on what can be saved. And follow us on Instagram at @PPE_Greentigers!
