• How do changes in fall weather impact plants and animals?
• What is the smallest number you can make with the digits 9, 5, and 7? What is the largest number you can make with those digits?
• What are some spellings you’ve learned for the long a sound? What are some spellings you’ve learned for the long o sound? Can you list words with those spellings?
• What did you learn about South America, Central America, North America, and the Caribbean from 123 Andres?

  • Essential Question: What was life like in the West for early Americans?
  • Learning Goals:
    • Ask and answer questions about a text.

    • Understand and use topic specific words and phrases in informative writing.
    • Identify words that are not topic-specific in a sentence and replace with topic-specific words.

Important Information:

• Second Grade Harvest Parties will be on October 31st from 1:45-2:40. We would love to have parents join us for the Harvest Party. Unfortunately, we do not have the space to accommodate younger siblings, so this is a parents only event.
• Our first field trip is coming up on November 16th. We’re headed to TPAC! Permission slips will be sent home closer to the date, but you can go ahead and pay your child’s field trip fee. Please follow the instructions listed below to make the payment.

To pay for field trips:

1. Go to schoolcashonline.com and click “Register.”  If you already registered last year, then you would just log in at this point.
2. Once registered, you will be able to add your students. Go ahead and add all your PPE students for future field trip payments!
3. In order to add a student, the first question is: Type in the School Board name and select one from the list. Ours is “Metro Nashville Public Schools”

1. The rest of the questions are just your student’s information!
2. Once your students have been added, you will see “Items” listed across the top.  When you click, you should see all of your children’s names and what field trips are available for payment.
