Ask your 2nd Grader:

  • What happens in Sky Tree
  • How is a conclusion sentence similar to a topic sentence in an informative paragraph?
  • What is an open number line?
  • How can you determine where numbers should be placed on a number line? How can you determine the pattern of numbers on a number line? 
  • Which direction do you go if you are using a number line to add? Which direction do you go if you are using a number line to subtract? 
  • What is weathering? What is erosion?

  • Wit and Wisdom Module 1: A Season of Change
    • Essential Question: How does change impact people and nature? 
    • Learning Goals:
      • Describe the structure of Sky Tree by interpreting specific references to seasons. 
      • Analyze how the author of Sky Tree uses varied sentence structure to give his text rhythm. 
      • Determine the central message of Sky Tree.
      • Plan and draft an informative paragraph about how Sky Tree shows the cycle of seasons.
