PTO Newsletter 11/8

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who helped out with this exciting week at PPE! Today is the second day of GrandFriends Days (grades 3-5) as well as the last day of the book fair. We have been so grateful for the amazing community of Grandparents and special friends who could join us these two days and to the volunteers who made this such a special event. Special acknowledgment to Julia Stoll Saitta, Rosemary Stunkel, Kathleen Darby, Vicki Markham, and Ms. Taylor who worked hard to make these days so wonderful for our guests and children. Next week we will link videos to the performances in the newsletter – keep an eye out!

There is no school on Monday as we honor our veterans – enjoy the long weekend as we pay tribute to all the men and women who have served or are currently serving our country. THANK YOU!

Join the Finance Committee

We need your help community! We are forming an important new Finance Committee for the PPE PTO. We are embarking on great change with the new building and beyond and we are looking for a small group of parents and guardians with an interest in developing a strategic plan, including short and long term goals, and to coordinate resources. This team will meet quarterly and work closely with the New Building Transition committee and the PTO Board to make recommendations for future PTO investments and make sure the gracious donations of our community are put to thoughtful use that serve the PTO mission.

NO prior financial experience is necessary.
Can we count on you? Email PPEPresidents@gmail.com if you have interest.

Let the games begin! AHA Kids Heart Challenge begins Nov 12!

We are proud to announce that PPE will be participating in the AHA Kids Heart Challenge this year starting Tuesday, November 12th.
  • If we get 400 or more students to register, watch the Hands-Only CPR video and watch the Warning Signs of a Stroke video, we will be hosting a “duck race” (more details to come).  Each child must register separately.
  • Students who register and watch both videos will get to vote on who they want to run in the race and earn a special prize.

Please check your child’s Friday folder for more information and register today at heart.org/schools!

Moms Thrive: “Anxiety and Social Media”

All PPE Moms are invited to attend this non-school-sponsored parenting talk. Mom’s Thrive is put on by fellow PPE moms who want to help develop community and encourage and equip moms with tools that lead to grace-filled parenting.
