We will continue to focus on weather and climate! We will identify the major types of clouds and the weather conditions associated with that type of cloud!
Math:
We will continue learning about equivalent fractions! Students will learn how to use visual models to explore equivalent fractions, locate two equivalent fractions at the same point on a number line, express whole numbers as fractions, and recognize fractions that are equivalent to whole numbers. The next unit we will learn about is comparing fractions. Students will explain the equivalence of fractions and compare fractions by reasoning about their size.
ELA:
We will continue studying Grandfather’s Journey and Tea with Milk. Students will compare and contrast the central messages, settings, and plots of the two stories by Allen Say. We will also work on a compare and contrast essay using a writing planner. Finally, students will reflect on what they have learned while reading Allen Say’s books.
