Principal’s Message: Final One!
Hello Percy Priest families! This is Dr. Young with the final callout for the 2020-2021 school year.
First, please join me in thanking Ms. Williams for her incredible service to our Percy Priest community. It has been so wonderful to have Ms. Williams back at Percy Priest for this last nine weeks and we wish her a relaxing and well-deserved summer and retirement.
Our end of year, student-selected no SSA days will conclude this week with Monday being real-life superhero day and Tuesday being musician day.
Our 4th grade end of year ceremony will be held on Monday, May 24th from 9:15-10:00. Please remember that we are only allowed to have two guest per 4th grade student at the event.
Tuesday will be the final day of the school year. We will be on a half day schedule and dismissal will be at 11:30. Report cards and end of year student data letters will be sent home with students on Tuesday. The data letters will include updated MAP results from the May assessment, as well as updated information on student progress in Lexia and iReady.
This summer we hope that all of our students are able to enjoy some great adventures and make wonderful memories. We encourage all of our students to continue reading throughout the summer. Please visit https://www.ppelearn.com/summer.html for more information on summer reading and for some calendars with summer STEAM activities. Additionally, students will be able to access Lexia and iReady through Clever throughout the summer to support continued practice for reading and math skills. As we begin to prepare for the 21-22 school year, please remember that first day school supplies are now available for ordering. Please visit https://1stdayschoolsupplies.com/kits.php?sid=97702 to order your supply kits.
Finally, on behalf of our entire team at Percy Priest, I want to say thank you for partnering with us this school year. As families, as a community, and as a world, we have gone through so much this year and the work that has been put in by our families, our teachers, and our staff to make this the best year possible for our students is awe-inspiring. Our students have been amazing and have shown incredible perseverance and resilience. Thank you to all of our students for the countless times you have lifted me up this year through our socially distanced greetings, a joke, an act of kindness, and your consistent positivity. A special thank you as well to our departing 4th graders and 4th grade families. Thank you for your support, dedication, and contributions to our school community, but most importantly, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to be a part of your child’s educational journey.
Remember to check out our PTO grade-level newsletters at https://percypriest.wpengine.com/latest-news/ for more information about upcoming school events.
Thank you and have a great summer break.
