3rd Grade Newsletter: 03/21/2025
In addition to the goals below, students will be reviewing key concepts and strategies to help them feel confident and prepared for testing in April. We will be working through practice tests and writing prompts which will help reinforce what they have learned.
Science: Students will learn about the impact of natural hazards (fires, landslides, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods) and create solutions to reduce the impact of these hazards on the environment.
Math– We will continue learning about comparing fractions. Students will explain the equivalence of fractions and compare fractions by reasoning about their size.
ELA: We will continue reading The Keeping Quilt, Patricia Polacco’s much-loved picture book about the ways traditions can evolve and change as families make efforts to stay connected to their home countries while adapting to their new homes. Students also develop their writing skills as they begin to consider how to organize the events of a narrative writing piece.
