Kindergarten News: 1/26
Hello Families!
This upcoming week, the students will be identifying problems and resolutions and representing numbers to 20. Please keep working with your student on their heart word book and return it on Thursdays. These are words the students should know by heart. Stay tuned for more updates!
We are going on a field trip!
Kindergarten’s first field trip will be Tuesday, February 6th, 2024! We will be travelling to the Nashville Children’s Theater. Chaperones will not be needed for this field trip but there will be an opportunity to help with a trip later this spring. Please look in your child’s teacher newsletter for any additional information!
100th Day of School!
The 100th Day of Kindergarten will be Wednesday, February 7th. To celebrate 100 days of learning and fun, all students are invited to dress up like they are 100 years old! Get as creative as you want!
Reminders:
-A peanut free snack and water bottle should be sent each day.
-We love celebrating birthdays! Students can celebrate at school by bringing in individually wrapped, prepackaged treats.

-Read, enjoy, and analyze literary texts and visual art.
-Identify problems and solutions in the story Billy Goats Gruff
-Identify how the authors sequence events in Billy Goats Gruff
-Create their own story with problem and resolution
MATH: Represent Numbers to at Least 20
-Count objects up to 20
-Write teen numbers
-Represent teen numbers using manipulatives
-Explore numbers to 20
Social/Emotional Learning (SEL)
-Demonstrate awareness and consideration of other people’s emotions, perspectives, and social cues
-Understand why we have rules and the importance of them
-Understand the importance of sharing and taking turns
-Understand problems and ways to solve them
-Learn how to have a conversation with others
