Kindergarten News: 2/2
Hello Families!
This upcoming week, the students will be starting to analyze life in America then and now and representing numbers to 20 using a ten and some ones. Please keep working with your student on their heart word book and return it on Thursdays. These are words the students should know by heart. Stay tuned for more updates!
Reminders:
-A peanut free snack and water bottle should be sent each day.
-We love celebrating birthdays! Students can celebrate at school by bringing in individually wrapped, prepackaged treats.
–Kindergarten field trip Tuesday February 6th
–Kindergarten 100th day of school (dress like you are 100 years old)
ELA: How has life has changed in America?
Students will…
-Read, enjoy, and analyze literary texts and visual art.
-Analyze life then and now
-Analyze how life has changed in America
MATH: Represent Numbers to at Least 20
-Count objects up to 20
-Write teen numbers
-Represent teen numbers using manipulatives
-Understand ten and some ones
Social/Emotional Learning (SEL)
-Demonstrate awareness and consideration of other people’s emotions, perspectives, and social cues
-Understand why we have rules and the importance of them
-Understand the importance of sharing and taking turns
-Understand how to solve different situations
-Learn how to have a conversation with a friend
