Kindergarten News: 3/26
Hi Parents,
It was great seeing the kiddos after being off for spring break! Hard to believe we are in the final quarter of the school year. We look forward to speaking with you about your child’s progress at today’s Conference Day.
This past week, Mrs. Twitchel met with our children for their guidance lesson. She taught them how to continually grow their brain by learning from mistakes and not giving up. Ask your child to explain the difference between A Bubblegum Brain vs. Brick Brain!
Here’s what is coming up in kindergarten…
“Everything Spring”
Essential Literature: The Wind Blew
~Retell events in the story including key details.
~Sequence the events in the story
~Identify the beginning, middle, and end of stories
~Read grade level texts with purpose and understanding (Take-home readers)
~Identify the long vowel sound in spoken words
~Produce and expand complete sentences in shared language activities
~Capitalize the first word in a sentence and the pronoun I
~ Recognize and name end punctuation
~Add and subtract within 10 to solve contextual problems using objects or drawings to solve the problem
~Count and identify numbers 1-100
