GrandFriends Days

Dear PPE GrandFriends and Special Friends,

Can you believe school is back in session? Luckily for us, our children attend Percy Priest Elementary! If your student is new to Percy Priest or you have been here for a year, two, or three, I am always amazed at all the wonderful happenings at Percy Priest.

My name is Vicki Markham. I am the GrandFriend liaison to the Percy Priest GrandFriend days and the INVEST Committee. I have three grands at PPE.

Our annual GrandFriends days are set for November 7 and 8th and I hope you will be able to join us for these special days. The children get so excited to show off what they have been learning! Last year, we had a wonderful musical program. Nothing like hearing those sweet voices. In addition, our new building is in full construction swing.

As the liaison to the INVEST committee, l love to talk about this opportunity to benefit our school. INVEST is a campaign open to anyone with an appreciation for Percy Priest Elementary. Through the INVEST campaign, much needed dollars go directly to the school. It is a chance for everyone in the Percy Priest community to support our teachers, students, and programs not funded through the Metro budget.

Our PTO uses our INVEST funds to help support the following:

• Technology
• Spanish
• Teacher Supplies
• Teacher Professional Development
• And many more things

So, how can you contribute?

• Go to the PPE INVEST website to learn more or support now. If you prefer, a check can be mailed directly to the school: 1700 Otter Creek Road, Nashville, TN  37215 – just make it out to Percy Priest and write INVEST on the memo line. 
• Ensure you and friends are signed up to receive the emails throughout the year, highlighting special activities, such as GrandFriends day.  
• You can even connect every day purchases to give back to school, like Publix and Kroger who donate a certain percentage of all transactions if you sign up for their community rewards program.

I hope you will join me to make this the best school year at Percy Priest! Please Save the Date on your calendars. The program will not be the same without you here to see these precious children.
