PTO Newsletter 3/21/25

This coming week we will celebrate our annual March MATHness – a week of math fun, challenges, and more! Join us Tuesday for Math Night, supported by our friends at Mathnasium. Can you join the fun and help with Math Night? We just need a few volunteers to help run tables and games (guidance provided) – Sign Up Here!

Teachers and staff will have a very short timeline to pack their classrooms before they must exit the current building for summer break. While MNPS will arrange for moving their packed boxes, many teachers would love help organizing, sorting, tossing, and packing their classrooms. Can you help? We absolutely need as many people as possible to chip in for this so if you haven’t had a chance to volunteer lately please join us. There are several options for dates and times!

General Announcements

Dear PPE Community,

As we approach the Covenant School’s anniversary, we hold those families near to our hearts. We know the PPE and CS communities are intertwined, and some of us have strong friendships within the Covenant community. The reminder of loss can feel significant to us and our children. If your child(ren) would like to paint a stone in memory of someone with a Counselor, please send us a short note here: Kristin.Keiper@mnps.org. Your child can choose to take the stone home or leave it at school for placement in Hearts Garden next year. If your child would like a quiet space to talk or share memories, please know the PPE Counseling Team is here with love and support.

Sincerely,

Ms. Kelly, Ms. Baxter, and Ms. K-B

The time has come! The Percy Priest library will be moving to the new building in mid-April. We need your help to get this process underway.

This week we checked out the final library books of the school year. Starting this coming Monday, March 24th all library books are due.

Please search under beds, in closets, under car seats, in back packs, in desks, or anywhere else books tend to hide and get them returned as soon as possible. Overdue notices will be coming home within the next few weeks for any that are still missing. Students may still use Limitless Library to order b0oks from the Nashville Public Library to be delivered to PPE and all public library books may be returned to PPE as well. THANK YOU!

Percy Priest Drama Club is proud to present The Wizard of Oz! We will be presenting the show on Friday, April 4th during the school day, however, if you’d like to come see the show, there are some opportunities during the week! Sign up here for tickets, or use the QR code on the flyer.

Update 3.21.25

Thank you to everyone who came out for the PTO meeting and building tour. We are so lucky to have this incredible new building and such an incredible community of teachers, staff, students, and parents.

FAQ 8: We are returning families but this building and back to school will be new to us. How do we learn more about what has changed for back to school? Whether you are a new family or returning for your 5th grade year – everyone will be “new” to Percy Priest and this new building this coming school year. School and PTO leadership are actively working on all the information you need to be prepared for day 1 (Aug 5). Keep an eye on the newsletter for all things back to school over summer!
