PTO Newsletter 5/17

One more week down and it is the FINAL COUNTDOWN TO SUMMER BREAK! While there may only be a handful of days of school left, we still have some great reminders below, including our FINAL Community Event of the school year.

Talent Show is tonight! Don’t miss the hard work and exciting acts from our very own students. See you there at 5pm TONIGHT in the PPE Cafe!

**PLEASE NOTE: Due to construction, parking on Priest Road is making traffic difficult because it is a narrow street. If the school parking lots are full, we ask that you park along Otter Creek or Willshire (and NOT on Priest Road) and walk towards school.

Do you know a Rising Kindergartner headed to PPE? Please forward them this email so they can sign up for the newsletter now and be totally in the loop for back to school in August.

Finally, wish a 5th Grader Congrats as they embark on their journeys to middle school!

1st Day School Supplies – June 15 order deadline

Percy Priest is partnering again this year with 1st Day School Supplies to make purchasing back-to-school supplies easy and affordable, while benefiting the PTO. You’ll be able to order exactly what your child needs for the fall by visiting our dedicated link here. Kits will be delivered directly to the school in August so this is truly hassle-free!

“I order from 1st Day School Supplies every year. I love the convenience – rather than running frantically through the school supply aisle at Target, the supplies are delivered to the classroom and they are the exact supplies that the teachers requested. I get to take my children school supply shopping for a few fun items (rather than folders and pencils) and we both enjoy the experience. The cherry on top is that a portion of my order gets donated back to the school! It’s a win-win-win.”

Nahed, 5th and 2nd Grade PPE Parent

We know summer can create all kinds of childcare problems. Wyndy is here to help!

Book a summer part-time or full-time, background-checked, college nanny and Wyndy will give back $50 to the PPE PTO.

Post your nanny job on the app, or learn more at wyndy.com/nannies. Just mention our code: PPES on your call.

2024-2025 School Year Volunteers Needed

Our incredible school runs and thrives on Parent, Caregiver, Grandparent, and Friends volunteering their precious time and skills. We have so many ways throughout the year to lend a hand and it is so rewarding to be involved in this awesome community and activities of our children and grandchildren.

Check out the immediate opportunities here and choose what interests you. There will be more opportunities throughout the year (this event list focuses on immediate needs)!

Dedicated and engaged parents and friends help make Percy Priest Elementary the great school that it is. Thank you for joining us next year as we make it another special year!

Please note: even if you have filled out this form in previous years, please submit again. We are starting with a clean slate this school year!

Percy Priest parents, who’s ready for pooltime?! We know you are, and our young friends throughout Nashville are, too! UniCycle works with neighborhood-based community centers throughout the city, and were recently called upon to help ensure that kids who come to community pools this summer have proper swimwear. We can do this! Let’s clean out last year’s gear and drop any swimsuits you won’t need this year into the UniCycle basket. Tiny tots through adult sizes – we’ll take them all, and they’ll all have a great summer with another swimmer!

MNPS Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-25 school year will kick off on Monday, January 30th.  If you or someone you know has an incoming kindergartner, please encourage them to complete registration as early as possible.  For information regarding enrollment requirements, please visit https://earlylearning.mnps.org/kindergarten.
