PTO Newsletter 5/23

Let’s hear it for the first 5th Grade class of Percy Priest Elementary! Congrats to all of our scholars moving onward to middle school and for such a great year at PPE. Come back and visit and have fun on your adventures ahead.

As the school year wraps up, the PTO extends a heartfelt thank you to our incredible teachers, dedicated staff, and outstanding Principal and Vice Principal for making this year so remarkable. We also want to express our deepest gratitude to the parents, caregivers, grand friends, and volunteers who poured their time and energy into our community events and fundraisers. This year has been filled with laughter, learning, growth, and fun, creating memories we’ll cherish. Our school’s vibrant spirit is a testament to the commitment and engagement of our teachers, staff, parents, and students. We are truly grateful for each of you and wish everyone a fantastic summer.

And finally a huge thank you to our outgoing PTO Board members who have served our school and PTO for several years each and helped in so many ways big and small. We have great memories and are so grateful for your time and presence to make PPE a wonderful community! Thank you to Libba Alden, Chris Bradshaw, and Katie Agnew!

Enjoy the break and keep an eye out for all things BACK TO SCHOOL in a few weeks!

1st Day School Supplies – June 15 order deadline

Percy Priest is partnering again this year with 1st Day School Supplies to make purchasing back-to-school supplies easy and affordable, while benefiting the PTO. You’ll be able to order exactly what your child needs for the fall by visiting our dedicated link here. Kits will be delivered directly to the school in August so this is truly hassle-free!

“I order from 1st Day School Supplies every year. I love the convenience – rather than running frantically through the school supply aisle at Target, the supplies are delivered to the classroom and they are the exact supplies that the teachers requested. I get to take my children school supply shopping for a few fun items (rather than folders and pencils) and we both enjoy the experience. The cherry on top is that a portion of my order gets donated back to the school! It’s a win-win-win.”

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…SUMMER! And time for the PPE 100 Book Challenge! And this year brings an added twist; 100 BOOKS + 100 HOURS OUTSIDE. Challenge cards were sent home last Friday. Record the titles of the books you read (for chapter books: 50 pages = 1 book) in the numbered boxes and color a leaf for each hour spent outside this summer.  Miss Stuart’s summer reading book lists for can be found here. There’s a list of titles for the entire family and individual lists for rising 1st graders-rising 5th graders.
